What does 'Max Q' mean?
In vehicle dynamics Max Q is the point at which stress and pressure on the system is at its absolute peak. Throughout the aerospace industry, products are engineered to withstand 'maximum q.' In fact, when the Space Shuttle launches, you'll hear mission control call out 'Max Q.' At Max Q Systems we design and manufacture products to withstand their Max Q conditions everyday.
Other 'Max Q' Trivia

Michael Hutchence (22 January 1960 – 22 November 1997) was best known for being in the highly successful rock band INXS. But he also had a side project in the band Max Q.
Although not as commercially successful as INXS, Max Q's eponymous album was a critical favorite. And the band did enjoy some airplay in the US with their single 'Way of the World.'
